Danish delegation explores opportunities for green transformation in Mukran Port

Sassnitz-Mukran, 29 October 2024 – On Sunday, 27 October, Mukran Port welcomed a Danish delegation with representatives from the island of Bornholm to further strengthen cross-border cooperation on energy issues and economic exchanges.

We were pleased to be able to kick off the delegation trip and welcome the participants to our port. After traveling by ferry with Bornholmslinjen from Rønne to Sassnitz/Mukran, the guests from Denmark met representatives of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The delegation was welcomed by Parliamentary State Secretary Heiko Miraß, th Mayor of Bornholm Jacob Trøst, the Mayor of Sassnitz Leon Kräusche, and Fridjof Ostenberg, Interim Managing Director of Mukran Port. Discussions then took place about, among other things, the future of the port industry, green commercial areas and future cooperation opportunities.

The delegation visits various stations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This is a return visit after Minister of Economic Affairs Reinhard Meyer, together with Parliamentary State Secretaries Michael Kellner (BMWK) and Heiko Miraß (MV), visited the island in May this year to learn more about the “Bornholm Energy Island” project.
