The island Rügen, with more than one million visitors per year, is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the southern Baltic Sea. Germany’s largest island makes a convincing argument to its guests with not only more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year but also a diversified tourism offer. In addition the chalk cliffs of Rügen and idyllic bays, Kap Arkona, the northern tip of Rügen, the seaside resorts Binz and Putbus or the Granitz Hunting Lodge there remain many other attractions simply waiting to be discovered by visitors.

The port is situated on the east side of the island of Rügen, just 12km south of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Nationalpark Jasmund”. Thanks to its position and proximity to numerous tourist attractions on the island, the port has been a popular destination for cruise operators from all over the world for more than 20 years. From Sassnitz, visitors have easy access to the picturesque hinterland of Western Pomerania and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Stralsund. MUKRAN PORT intends on significantly expanding the cruise liner business in the near future.
